Tariffs and the Z2: What to Expect
As international shipping has started for the first Z2 units, we wanted to bring some clarity around expectations regarding tariffs.
What’s a tariff?
It’s a tax your country may place on physical goods imported across borders. That means your Z2 hardware is eligible for tariffs—but any digital content, apps, or online learning resources are not. Additionally, trade agreements between countries could deem some hardware components not eligible for tariffs.
Here is an example:
Z2 Total Price: $2,384
Grinder Hardware Value (eligible for tariff): $1,534
1 x SSP Burrs (made in South Korea): $350
Zerno Sessions (digital - not eligible for tariff): $500
If your country charges a 10% import tax, the tariff would be based only on the $1,534 hardware, meaning you’d owe just under $153.40. The rest—the online classes and education—comes to you digitally, with no additional import costs.
We hope this helped clear up some of the confusion around tariffs, and what it could mean for you when your Z2 gets delivered. Still have questions? We’re happy to help.
